Description: Expressions of Interest are sought for the provision of stray dog kennelling and collection of stray dogs out of office hours within the Basildon District Council and Castle Point Borough Council areas. Kennels shall meet the requirements of the Animal Boarding Establishments Act 1963 and will be subject to regular inspection by the Council's Veterinary Officer. In accordance with section 149(8) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 a register will be kept of strays. Separate records shall be kept for Basildon District Council and Castle Point Borough Council.

Other information: The contractor will respond to members of the public reporting and holding stray dogs and where necessary collect the dog and transport dogs to the kennels between the following hours:- Weekdays 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays 8:00a.m. - 10:00 p.m. The Council will not be obliged to accept any proposals.
